For the National Park System’s centennial, author David Kroese of Loves Park visited all 417 parks, and now you can enjoy hearing his stories and seeing the slides! He’ll have copies of his new book, “The Centennial: A Journey through America’s National Park System,” for sale ($30) and signing.

The sites ranged from Alaska to Puerto Rico, including the 418th unit, Camp Nelson National Monument in Kentucky – a Union recruitment and training center for African-American soldiers during the Civil War and refugee camp for their families.
