ROCKFORD — A new indoor trampoline and adventure park is set to open this winter in part of the former Gordman’s at the corner of East State Street and Perryville Road.

Urban Air Adventure Park said it has leased space at 7137 E. State St. with plans to open by December.

The company was founded in 2011 in Dallas and has nearly 290 locations. This is its first Urban Air in the city after opening several in Chicagoland.

“We know families are looking for ways to spend more time together and as the premier destination for family fun and adventure, we’re thrilled to bring our park experience to even more families in Rockford,” CEO Jay Thomas said in a news release.

The Rockford location would employ about 60.

Urban Air will contain numerous attractions, such as APEX trampolines, a ropes course, tracks for tumbling and other activities. It will also include a café for visitors.

“Each park is equipped with unique and patented attractions, giving families a one-of-a-kind experience and allowing them to be active, soar to new heights, and reach new limits, all while having fun and making memories,” Thomas said.

Urban Air Adventure Park also serves as a venue for birthday parties and private events.

The former Gordman’s space was divided to house both Urban Air and Planet Fitness, a 24-hour gym that plans to open in mid-June.
