WINNEBAGO — Mending Hearts Animal Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit animal rescue agency.

It specializes in dogs and cats and does not discriminate by breed, age or health. They believe all animals should have a forever home.

Because this is a foster-based system, volunteers care for the animals out of their own homes. Donations (both goods and monetary) are vitally important to offset the costs foster families often must pay to cover expenses for the animals in their care. Likewise, all of the members of the group are strictly volunteer.

Mending Hearts provides training and rehabilitation, medical care (including all vaccines and spay/neuter) and grooming to all of their rescues to ensure that they are happy, healthy and adoptable pets. If you’d like to see their wish list or make a monetary donation, visit their website here.
