ROCKFORD —  Veterans Day is an occasion where we honor those who fought for our country and active-duty military. To say “thank you,” there are a few places giving out freebies to veterans here in the Stateline.

Sam’s Ristorante Pizzeria & Banquets, located at 6075 E. Riverside Blvd. in Rockford, is honoring vets all day on Thursday, Nov. 11 with a free spaghetti dinner. Veterans must dine in and have proof of military service.

Tricoci University of Beauty Culture is giving away free haircuts for active-duty military and veterans from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday. You can call and schedule your appointment ahead of time or they also take walk-ins.

Fozzy’s Bar & Grill, 6246 E. Riverside Blvd., is throwing a party for veterans this Sunday. DJ Toxic will be playing the jams from noon to 4 p.m., and they are having a $50 gift card raffle that ONLY vets can get into for no charge. Fozzy’s Bar & grill got 20 local bars/restaurants to provide them with these gift cards that will be raffled off.

On Nov. 20, there is also going to be Veterans Art & Business Expo. Get to know your local veterans at Veteran’s Memorial Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a Veterans Art & Business expo. From local artists to crafters to businesses. Come out and show your support for the veterans in the area.

Other freebies veterans

7-Eleven is giving away a free coffee or Big Gulp to veterans on Veterans Day.

Applebee’s is allowing veterans and active-duty military to select a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day. Proof of service is required.

Buffalo Wild Wings is giving free wings to veterans all day on Veterans Day. Veterans and active-duty military who dine in or call for takeout at their local B-Dubs can receive a free order of boneless wings and a side of fries.

At Chili’s Grill & Bar, all veterans and active-duty military personnel can choose a complimentary meal from a select menu.

During military family appreciation month, Cracker Barrel will offer in-store specials on Veterans Day for military veterans and promotions throughout November to support military families in partnership with Operation Homefront. On Veterans Day, veterans can receive a free slice of double fudge Coca-Cola cake with their meal.

All active, non-active or retired military personnel at all participating Denny’s restaurants nationwide will receive a free build-your-own grand slam breakfast on Veterans Day from 5 a.m. to noon. Diners must show ID to receive this offer.

Veterans get a free pulled pork classic sandwich at Dickey’s Barbeque Pit. To redeem in-store, veterans and active military personnel must present a military ID or valid proof of service.

On Veterans Day, veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free doughnut at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide, no purchase necessary.

All former and current military personnel will receive a free Georgia chopped pork sandwich plus a side. Dine-in or to go at Famous Dave’s.

All active and former military members can pick up a free “thank you meal” promotional card that’s good for one free lunch or dinner buffet and beverage throughout the month of November at Golden Corral.

Veterans can stop into Hooters for 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of any 10 from a long list of wing styles.

All active duty and veterans are invited to come in and enjoy free red, white, and blue pancakes at IHOP on Veterans Day, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

On Veterans Day, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., veterans and active military members can receive a free lunch combo, which features four slices of Little Caesar’s popular Detroit-style deep-dish pizza, paired with a 20-ounce Pepsi product.

 

Veterans and active military who are Red Robin Royalty members can redeem their free tavern double burger with steak fries any time between Nov. 12 and Nov. 30 for dine-in or go.
