Here are today’s Nerd News! headlines:

Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” topped the domestic box office this weekend. Starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt the movie made $34-point-two-million for its debut, the third largest pandemic opening. The Green Knight came in second, and M Night Shyamalan’s “Old” came in third.

Despite a fan petition to get Amber Heard booted from the sequel to Aquaman because of the allegations against her in the case with her ex husband Johnny Depp, it appears she’s not going anywhere. Director Peter Safran says they were never going to react to fan pressure, and believe this choice was best for the film.

And happy birthday to director Kevin Smith. Kevin turns 51 today and is celebrating by kicking off filming on Clerks 3. He says it’s a special birthday because it is also the 30th anniversary of the day he saw Richard Linklater’s “Slacker,” which made him decide he wanted to be a filmmaker.
