The Fighting Illini are looking to rebound after a lackluster performance offensively last time out verse Michigan State. The 5th ranked Illini struggled to find any rhythm offensively and compounded the problem by going just 19/34 from the free throw line in their 82-71 loss to Michigan State on Tuesday night. Kofi Cockburn was an abysmal 3-11 from the line himself, Cockburn heading into that game was 70% from the line on the season. Look for a bounce back effort from Cockburn and the rest of the Illini Thursday night at home verse Nebraska

Last time Nebraska faced Illinois they gave the Illini quite the fight as the game had to be decided in OT. The Cornhuskers have a trio of excellent guards led by Teddy Allen who leads Nebraska at 17.8 ppg. Guard Trey McGowens is the only other Husker to average double digits at 10.4 ppg. Then there is all everything guard the 6’9 Dalano Banton. Banton is a stat sheet stuffer averaging 9.9 ppg, 6.3 rebs, and 4.3 assists. The Illini will need a better defensive and much better offensive effort to get back on track verse Nebraska.

Tip off for Illinois and Nebraska is scheduled for 6p CT Thursday on the Big Ten Network
