The 2020 season has been hard on every school in the NCAA. Early on the Big Ten conference decided to cancel their season while other conferences pushed forward with an adjusted schedule. After a few weeks of those conferences proving that it was possible to put a season together, the BIG Ten changed their mind and announced they will also play an adjusted 2020 season. Part of the rules for the season was that teams would have to play a minimum of six games in order to be eligible for the Big Ten Championship. Unless one of those schools happens to be Ohio State.

Ohio State has been ranked, some argue unfairly, in the top four in the country since the week they came back to action. Earlier this week it was determined, due to COVID 19, that Ohio’s game against Michigan this weekend would be cancelled. This left Ohio State below the minimum 6 game requirement. So, on Wednesday night the Big Ten decided to amend their six game requirement in order for Ohio to clinch the Big Ten East Champion title.

The stage is now set for Ohio State (5-0) to face off against Northwestern (5-1) in the Big Ten Championship game on December, 19th. The winner will earn one of four spots in the NCAA football playoff and could be playing for the National Championship next month.
