Prost! The all-new Urban Forest Craft Brewing, located at 6551 E. Riverside Blvd Suite #112, is hosting their first annual Oktoberfest this Saturday (10/10, Noon – 10PM) – complete with their Oktoberfest Lager “Das Booty”, and very limited quantities of special edition UFCB .4L Rastal Tankards for sale. Plus, neighbors Buddy’s Burgers are serving up smoked bratwurst (marinated in UFCB Oktoberfest) along with Oktoberfest beer battered onion rings just for the occasion. Hot tip: Ask about the Oktoberfest jerky!

Feel like taking your lederhosen around town? Check out these essential local fall ‘fest beers while you’re at it:

  • PSB Hefeweizen (Rockford): Hazy and straw-colored, as the style dictates, plus that lovely banana, clove, and citrus you love from a Hef – plus, available year round!
  • PSB Oktoberfest (Rockford): Crisp and caramely Marzan, available on tap or 4-packs while it lasts! Pairs well with sausage and kraut and a tiny bit of chill in the air.
  • Hairy Cow Punkin’ed (Byron): Is it pumpkin? Is it yams? It’s definitely beer and that’s important. And if you’re gonna go the pumpkin route, this is a must while it lasts.
  • Pig Minds Oktoberfest (Machesney Park): Traditional Marzen lager with a smooth amber body. Plus, European roasted malts, German yeast and noble hops make it official and an essential stop on your fall tour.
  • Pig Minds Hey There Hef (Machesney Park): Smooth Hefeweizen boasting the traditional flavors of banana, clove and bubblegum with the tiny addition of lemon peel.
  • Generations Red Oktober (Freeport): Fermented for over three months and is incredibly smooth with complex malt character. Highly kilned German malts build a roasted body with a small touch of cherrywood smoked barley and noble hops to finish off the aroma. Worth. The. Wait!
  • Holzlager Mad King (Woodstock): Traditional Oktoberfest brewed with German ingredients, with a medium body with notes of carmel, toffee, and a spicy herbal finish. Cue the polka!
