The Illinois Trucking Association (ITA) is providing a free lunch for truck drivers on Wednesday, April 29, at the IDOT Weight Station on Interstate 55.  ITA has partnered with the Illinois State Police and Illinois Department of Transportation to provide professional truck drivers with a free box lunch to say “thank you” for all their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lunches will be handed to professional truck drivers as they drive through the Williamsville Weigh Station on I-55 (north of Springfield) starting at 11:00 AM on Wednesday.

“The trucking industry in Illinois employs more than 300,000 hardworking men & women.  That’s 1 out of every 16 jobs in the state,” says Matt Hart, Executive Director of the Illinois Trucking Association.  “Our professional truck drivers have been working extremely hard during the current pandemic and giving our drivers a free meal is just one way for the Illinois Trucking Association to say ‘thank you’ for working to safely deliver the goods that Americans need each day.”

Illinois Trucking Association is a non-profit trade association led by trucking companies to promote and protect the interests of the trucking industry in Illinois.  ITA is the only American Trucking Association affiliate in Illinois and has offices in Springfield and Joliet, Illinois.  You can follow the Illinois Trucking Association on Facebook and Twitter.
