The COVID-19 virus outbreak has many of us spending time away from work, hanging around the house and now with the kids out of school until March 30, you might be wondering how to stay entertained while you’re stuck inside. Here are 10 things to do while you’re trapped in the house.

Enjoy A Movie Marathon

Catch up on movies you’ve put off watching or binge watch an entire series of your favorite films or TV shows. Maybe watch all the movies from a specific filmmaker, watch a remake and compare it to the original, or only watch films from the year you were born.

Treat Yourself To Spa Day… At Home

It could be just a long, luxurious bath to relax yourself, giving you and your little ones mani/pedis, or exfoliating your skin with facial mask. Refresh yourself after a stressful week.

Bake Some Tasty Treats

Nothing is more satisfying than the smell of delicious fresh-baked cookies. Whether it’s just some break-and-bake cookies or getting the mixer out of the cabinet and going all out, the family will be happy… for a least a little bit.

Organize Your Photos…Physically or Digitally

Whether you have a mountain of old photos in shoeboxes or you’ve saved them onto your phone or laptop, this might be the perfect time to organize those captured moments into albums.

Have A Dance Party

Music helps us express ourselves and after being cooped up in the house for the weekend, you might need let those feelings free. So, if you have some old mixtapes, CDs, or need to create a Spotify playlist — create your own private dance club with your kids or by yourself. Dance like nobody is watching. Have fun.

Break Out The Board Games & Puzzles

We live in a connected world, most of us spending hours on our phones. Put the phones and tablets down, and pull out the old-fashioned board games like checkers, Yahtzee, Sorry, or Candy Land. Not a board game fan, how about dusting off a 500-1000 piece puzzle?

Read A Book

Whether it’s an old favorite paperback or you’re checking out the latest on your Amazon Wishlist and skimming through the digital pages on your Kindle or tablet, take an hour or two losing yourself in a good book. Expand your mind and have a cup of coffee while you’re reading.

Relax & Take A Nap

Most of us don’t like taking naps when we’re younger yet when you hit adulthood, something that seems to disappear is the time to enjoy a good 30-60 minute nap. Well, treat yourself to a nap – with the family or pets! Best time to take a nap is between 1-3PM, to reenergize yourself for the afternoon and evening.

Rearrange Your House

If you’re stuck in the house, you might be looking around at the furniture and wondering what the couch would look like on the opposite wall or moving your bed, nightstand to a new position. Do it. Change is good.

Enjoy Some Beverages (Adult Or Not)

You might not want to head out into world, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on Happy Hour or your go-go juice. Use this time to learn how to master your favorite cocktails or favorite coffee treats. YouTube is your friend in these situations, maybe you’ll find a new go-to drink.
